Thermacoat is a water based elastometric acrylic latex coating recommended for all types of roofs, walls and surface including asphaltic, cement, metal, wood etc. It is suitable for roof , vertical wall surfaces, storage tanks, air conditioning ducts and more.
Thermacoat keeps the heat away and saves atleast 30% of cooling energy cost. Energy is saved in two ways. Firstly at the surface level it reflects back more than 80% sunlight thus keeping surface temperature at or about ambient air temperature. Secondly, the insulation provided by the coating reduces heat transfer into the interior of the structure. Thus a 0.25 to 0.3 mm thin dry film of Thermacoat will stabilize the interior temperature lesser by 6ºC or more.
Thermacoat increases the useful life expectancy of the structure by blocking the sun’s ultraviolet rays. In cold climates is keeps the heat in and the cold out. Thermacoat has exceptional bonding strength, high tensile strength and greater abrasion resistance. It is also a superior water barrier with improved resistance to ponded water and gives excellent water proofing. Thermacoat can be tinted in pastel shade without loosing its efficiency.
With continuous sun and heat exposure, normal elastomeric coatings become tacky and allows dirt and debris to easily stick to the coating. Reflectivity and hence efficiency of normal elastomeric coatings rapidly decline within a couple of years due to the dirt pick up. This drawback has been totally phased out in the formulation of Thermacoat which continues to remain stable year after year.
Thermacoat can be applied by using brush, roller or airless spray. No thinner is required. Thermacoat can be applied on any clean and dry surface. Normal drying time 30 minutes to touch and 4 hours to recoat. For good efficiency and durability. Thermacoat should be applied in two coats. Single coat will provide 0.3 mm wet film which will dry to approx. 0.15 mm dry film. Thus after two coats the overall effective dry film will be approx. 0.3 mm.
